Dear Student,
Below you will find some general information on the Paws4fun Agility Club and information to allow you to prepare for your upcoming class or event.
General Information About the Facility:
The Paws4Fun Agility is located at 2840 Taylor Road, Kemptville ON K0G 1J0. Information about Paws4fun Agility (including a map and rules of conduct while at the facility) can can be found at https://www.paws4funagility.ca/about/. There will be a sign at the road to help you find the entrance for the first week of classes.
The laneway into the fields from Taylor Road can be quite muddy if we have had a lot of rain. Please drive carefully to avoid getting stuck. Please respect the 20 km/h speed limit driving in from Taylor Road and across the field.
You may park in front of the ring where the class is being held.
Please show up at least 15 minutes before start time to toilet and exercise your dog so they are ready to learn. There are posts in the field for the dogs - Do not allow your dog to pee on any ring fence and please pick up after your dog.
Porta potties are available on site.
What to bring for you:
-Bring either a wearable treat bag that can be closed, or wear a garment with loose, accessible pockets.
-Wear appropriate footwear for running on uneven ground.
-Rain gear if inclement weather.
-Chair
-Water for you (please note there is no drinkable water source on site, so you must bring what you require).
-Bug spray / sunscreen
-Things to keep yourself cool (fan, cooling jacket etc)
What to bring for your dog:
-All dogs should wear a flat collar or harness – no choke, pinch or electronic collars,
-Dogs must be leashed at all times when not in the ring or secured in an enclosure such as a Crate or x-pen. You may also choose to crate from your car. Retractable leashes are not allowed.
-Water for your dog (please note there is no drinkable water source on site, so you must bring what you require)
-Lots (more than you think you'll need) of small chewy treats and a hungry dog
-If your dog is toy-motivated, bring his/her favorite toy.
-Things to keep your dog cool (fan, cooling jacket, shade cloth etc)
General Class and Event information:
-Do not enter the ring until your instructor tells you.
-One handler in the ring per dog.
-Do not allow your dog on any equipment you have not been trained on. This is for their safety.
-You must be able to safely and securely contain your dog at the request of your instructor.
-You may be asked to help with course set up or tear down.
-Classes and events will be held rain or shine; however they maybe cancelled a minimum 1 hour before its scheduled start time if it's pouring, high winds, extreme heat or there is a thunderstorm. Notifications for cancellation will be sent by e-mail. It is your responsibility to check your e-mail before you leave for the class or event. In the case of a cancellation an alternate date will be scheduled.

-Paws4Fun Agility Club supports a fun and positive training environment for you and your dog to bond and learn new skills. Our focus is on learning through positive reinforcement. We look forward to giving you and your dog an opportunity to learn this new sport.
