3-Dog Team Competition, 2026

This was so much fun with this is 2025, it's back again by popular demand for 2026!
How it works:

  • Dogs DO NOT have to play in all Paws4Fun 2026 AAC Trial, just one or more.

  • Dogs DO NOT have to compete in all classes, just one or more (Standard, Jumpers, Snooker, Gamblers, Steeplechase).

  • 3 dogs per team. teams need only register once, that covers all trials, and can enter any time prior to the first day of the first AAC Trial of 2026, 23 May.

  • Any number of dogs on a team may have the same owner, but a dog can only be on one team.

  • Dogs can be at any level (Starters, Advanced, Masters), all dogs on a team do not need to be at the same level. All levels have a fair chance - remember that course design and faults differ at each level. For instance, for an off course on a Standard course, Masters dogs are eliminated (scoring 0 in this competition) while Starters dogs just get a 5 faults (scoring 95 points in this competition if that's their only faults).

  • For each dog, their best score in each class over the 2026 season counts for the team. So play once and post a score, then rest on that, or keep playing to try to improve on it.

SCORING

  • Within each class:

  • “E” is scored as zero, "FEO" is scored as zero

  • Standard and Jumpers: dog starts with 100 pts, course and time faults are subtracted off, time under SCT is added on if there are no faults

  • Snooker & Gamblers: points (including the doubling of points in Gamblers)

  • Steeplechase: dog starts with 100 pts, (SCT - Dog's Score) is added

  • The team is scored on the sum of each dog’s best run in the class over all Paws4Fun 2026 AAC Trials

  • Teams are ranked first to lost in each class. The 1st place team gets 16 competition-points, the 2nd place 15 competition-points, the 3rd place 14 points, and so on down to 1 competition-point for the 16th place team

  • Overall placement across all classes is the team with highest sum of competition-points over all classes.

AWARDS

  • Will be presented at the end of the Sept-2026 Paws4Fun trial, Sunday afternoon. You don’t have to be present to win

  • First Place for each class - Rosettes will be given to each dog on the first place team for each of Standard, Snooker, Gamblers, Jumpers and Steeplechase.
(a team can only win one of the classes. Precedence = Steeplechase, Standard, Snooker, Gamblers, Jumpers. I.E. if a team has the highest score in Steeplechase, Gamblers and Snooker, they only get awarded for Steeplechase.)

  • First, Second, and Third Place for overall - Rosettes will be given to each dog on the first, second, and third place teams overall (for overall position, teams actual scores are used, regardless of how many classes they won)

  • Each dog on the first place overall team will receive a Paws4Fun pre-paid run certificate for the 2027 season

  • No tie-breakers – e.g. if teams tie for first, then they all come first and all get awards
